A kit idea

I remember back in the Sims 1 - yes, I'm that old - that Maxis had a collection of random Sim outfits they produced. This collection included a Sherlock Holmes outfit, two version of a toga, one short, one long, for both males and females, and other random bits of goodness.

I would love it the developers could give us a similar kit full of these random bits that might not fit anywhere else. I call it the "Costume Trunk Kit" and it would include CAS asset pieces and outfits that are quirky and fun and might help us dress up for Spooky Day or even just spruce up an existing outfit, both costume and everyday. I'm thinking hats like the Sherlock Holmes Deerstalker hat or the German alpine hat or a Fez, maybe a ladies' elegant "high tea" hat (Think Rose boarding the Titanic in "Titanic"); the aforementioned togas (with a new toga party social event patched in?); an eyepatch (which could also be used by Sims for everyday wear, not just pirate cosplay); lederhosen and alpine German girl dress; costume jewelry like big jewel rings, or Mardi Gras beads; fingerless biker/moto gloves; Viking helmet; Barbershop Quartet outfit; 50's greaser and sock hop outfits; flapper dresses and accessories; bows and flowers that you can pin to a hairstyle as an accessory; scarves you can add to an outfit like you would jewelry.

And don't forget kids, toddlers and infants!

I'm just throwing out examples, of course, but this is the kind of kit I'd like to see, and frankly the kind of ideas that are perfect for a kit: CAS assets that maybe don't fit a particular theme, or accentuate an old one. Make them fun, unique and (I hesitate to say this) maybe a little quirky, items that your designers might not have gotten the opportunity in any other capacity.

And if you wanted to split it up into TWO kits, historical and a Spooky Day refresh that includes classic monster costumes - Dracula, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, Phantom of the Opera, Wolfman, Mummy, Creature of the Black Lagoon, etc. - I wouldn't mind.

  • I love this idea! I’d be totally down if EA created kits like this, as I often feel like things are missing in CAS, particularly for storytelling. Having a variety of “costume” items would be really fun
  • This is a great idea. Having more items for parties/celebrations/festivals would be a nice addition. Toga parties would be so fun for uni students. This would solve the serious lack of costumes avaliable for toddler/children.
  • I would so love the following Kits:
    1. Prehistoric CAS for all ages
    2. Prehistoric Build Mode Objects
    3. Ancient Times CAS for all ages
    4. Ancient Times Build Mode Objects
    5. Dark Ages/Medieval CAS for all ages
    6. Dark Ages/Medieval Build Mode Objects
    7. Renaissance/Georgian CAS for all ages
    8. Renaissance/Georgian Build Mode Objects
    9. Victorian/Olden Days Western CAS for all ages
    10. Victorian/Olden Days Western Build Mode Objects

By the way, I play these timelines in my Game Saves ;)
