You can actually drop out of school with a cheat, I found this out by accident
if you use the cheat
careers.retire (insert job)
then you don't have to go to school and you get a weekly payment of whatever salary
for example, my sim was a barista so after turning cheats on I typed in
careers.retire barista
and my teen "retired"
