Activities for children?

The children are super limited in what they can do, sometimes I feel like the children of TS1 had more freedom hahaha! but truthfully I miss the baking oven the children had and then they could sell the cakes and such on that table with the umbrella!
It would be nice if the children could learn to play the piano or keyboard and learn to paint like they could in the other games. Plus some new aspirations would be nice maybe something to do with just music or getting money, I am sure I am not the only one who would buy sweets and then sell them to my classmates at school hehe!
Really I think the children, teens and maybe even the toddlers could be fleshed out a bit more in what they could do.
