@MrsRacooney Paser and Neferure and based on ancient Egypt. Paser's sister married into royalty. They were not royal themselves. Paser was the son of a high ranking vizier which is why Neferure married the prince. The royal family and their family were very close. Neferure's husband is the actual ruler of the land but Neferure makes some bold choices regarding Paser.
I have read about a lot of Hippolyta's. Your Hippolyta so far is the only one I have read about that is an actual person (and kind of my favorite). I went with there have been many queens named Hippolyta so her stories and histories change. They think she is a demi-god or some sort of diety so they follow her rule without question.
