An idea about fossils

Every time I get to collect fossils for some reason I always thought it as to build a dinosaur or something really cool, but no because its purpose is just to collect. So, my idea is that I could collect fossil pieces to recreate couple of figures like dinosaurs, dragons, fish..etc. Make it like a puzzle. It could be added to either the scientific career, the collector, the trader or a business shop, as part of a museum, as a school project for small fossils like fish or birds. It can be played as a main goal as well.

Great idea! Something like the bird sims can assemble when they collect all feathers in Cats and Dogs ep.
  • That is a really cool idea for a collection or career reward. A paleontologist career would be a great active career that it could tie into for example.
  • Let's take it one step further: Make a new set of fossils with mosquitoes in amber, have a sim extract the DNA samples from each one to reconstruct a dinosaur's genetic code, and let our sims clone themselves some pet dinosaurs! Minimum--One sauropod ("Long Necks"), one theropod (T-Rex, Raptors, Gallimimus those guys), one ceratopsian (Triceratops, Styracosaurus, Protoceratops, etc.), one big ornithopod (Parasaurolophus, Eguanodon, Anatotitan, etc.), and one ankylosaur or nodosaur (those big, armored guys like Ankylosaurus). That would make a dino-nerd like me very happy.

Pet dinasour means new animations which EAxis would clearly refuse to do for such a small thing.

True, but if they were willing to invest in it, it would be so freaking awesome.

    Well, a gal can dream...
  • They could expand on the collection. I too thought that we would eventually get to build a skeleton of some animal but no such luck. They could add maybe three fossil pieces for each new animal discovered and there could be maybe 5 of them? You could build the skeleton and further do a reconstruction of what it would look like when alive and then you could display it in a museum. If placed outside, it would look like a zoo of sorts.
