The last time I played (and since day one) these Sims had affairs going on (in my game) with Sims they supposedly had seen out on community lots or open spaces. I've said this many times I guess, the game turned Watson gay though I had planned for him to marry Mary. It happens sometimes right in front of you if they are usually a romantic Sim and get a flirty mood. Or other Sims are flirty it spills over onto your own Sim. It may have been tweaked since the first year of game. However, last time I played it made a Sim of mine (straight) get up from his table at a restaurant and go flirt with another set of Sims (married) to flirt with the husband. In front of his girlfriend and the other guy's wife. I had never played them as bi or gay. It happens quite often if you are a rotational player. You can also return to a household and find out your Sims have affairs going on with strangers you as the player haven't even met in your game.
Tweaked? It got far worse. Now they roll out the wish to flirt with whoever regardless the sex, you just have to befriend another sims for the wish to appear. Sims in flirty mood flirt with everything that moves. Sims in confident mode do the "bold pick up line" with everything that moves. It seems like if you want one sims to be etero, the game do the impossible to force you into having him\her bisexual, same if you want your sims to be gay. I disabled the random flirting, it would be fine if a sim with an already established preference refused the flirt from other sims, but like this is a mess. And yes, I'm sure my sims have 100% established preference because I set them manually and check them with a mod.
The nice thing about the whims is you can dismiss them -- you don't have to do them. I have a Sim that's just starting out so after buying her house she doesn't have much money left (she doesn't even have her own computer, but has to use the library computers for her writing; she'll get her computer at level 2 of the career) and she keeps rolling whims to buy stuff. I just X them out and move on. She'll get that stuff eventually but not till she's farther along.
