if done in Sims4, it would have suction cups instead, and the arrows would land randomly with no scoring system, kind of like Sims4 chess being pieces that don't look like chesspieces and don't move in any semblance to a real game.
Sims3 or Sims 2? Real arrows, a choice of compound bows or non, scores that correlate to where on the target the arrow landed, the ability to do it competitively with others where someone wins, and in Sims2, inexperienced archers sometimes twang their forearm and it hurts!, and also don't hit the target as well, but get better with experience, plus have to walk to the target to retrieve arrows, to start again.
In Sims 4, they would start again as if by magic, all the arrows returned to the quiver instantly, no scoring, no winning, and no chance of hitting someone even if they walk right between the shooter and the target.
Darts in Sims 4 has a scoring system. Where the dart lands on the dartboard correlates with the score the Sim gets. Since they've done it with darts they can do it with archery too. The issue with darts is that in competitions only one Sim gets a turn which is something they could fix to not repeat with archery. Archery competitions should have 2 Sims shooting the target at the same time.
The possibility for inexperienced archers to twang their forearm and it hurts would be good to have in The Sims 4. They could get an uncomfortable moodlet from it. Also it would be nice to have our Sims choose whether they wear an armguard or not and a selection of armguard to choose from as well as arrows and bows. Sims who wear an armguard could be happy they're wearing an armguard when they twang their forearm. Maybe they could get confident from it. It would be great to allow children to have a go. There could be child bows and arrows and children could automatically always wear an armguard when shooting to keep them safe. I think archery would be better as a stuff pack than a Kit.
