I think I would vote for freeing babies from the cribs. Because we have toddler stage where they learn to crawl, stand up, try to walk, and move on to food in a bowl (I assume baby food) rather than always a bottle etc. TS4 doesn't have many of these stages for it's toddlers but the other games do. So, I would vote for being able to take a baby out into the community far away from home, stroll with a tram, etc. Since if people play on normal lifespan aging in TS4 (I played in long life mode) it would have to be things you can accomplish in three days. But it's funny, in the other games, we only get three days to teach a toddler to walk, sing, talk, skills, potty and other things. I don't know why baby stage should be any easier. Perhaps those Sims who have a job and the player wants them to skill etc. could put off those things like in the older games and take time off from work to accomplish these things like in TS2 your parent can take off from work until you send them back and still be paid.
I wouldn't want to know their needs since irl they can't communicate very much to a real parent so maybe a parent could learn some skills while pregnant of how to clean and feed and fill emotional needs better before it's born.
