I have an existing house on a foundation that I’d like to add a basement to. What is the best way to do this? I thought about removing outside steps, lowering the foundation height, adding the base...

That should work, but you may have to remove the 2nd floor stairs first, place the basement stairs, then replace the 2nd floor stairs.
