It’s a little ridiculous... Yes, I sincerely do have an intense fear of thunder and lightning. Is EA now going to go and take thunderstorms away too because I expressed my common fear? No, it really did freak me out a lot when lightning blasted near my house. So, why not make an off setting like they have for thunderstorms?

That is false and has been confirmed to be false for years now.

They just haven't added them. It's as simple as that.

Thank you for your input, I was unaware of that. I’ve only ever seen articles backing the anxiety statement. Is it just their decision not to? Or do you know if there’s a different reason?

Yes please!! I miss my sims fighting off the burglars, they were so funny.

This is what I've wanted for the Sims 4 burglars:
They are in the base game, but Get To Work can increase the Sim's interactions:

•Each night, starting at 12 AM, there is a 3% chance(Very rare) of a random Sim (Townie, or premade Sim) to break into a Sim's home.
If the Sim is awake, they can fight the burglar (Higher fitness skill leads to success) Bribe them (More success if Sim pays more) or ask them to leave (Higher Charisma and a Confident sim can be better at doing this)

•Burglars have a higher chance to come to a household if a household is wealthy and had a lot of house value (A Sim with a 1 million dollar house value has a decent chance of being robbed, whereas a Sim with only 25k in house value(Mobile homes, tiny houses) have a lowest chance of robbery.


•If Get To Work is installed, and the Sim is in a Detective Career, they can arrest the burglar and they will be escorted to a rabbit hole, and if they already taken items when they are arrested, the family will be reimbursed and the objects will be taken in evidence.
Sims with higher Logic are to succeed in this option.

•An alarm can be bought and armed, so if a Sim is sleeping, or they are out of the house, they will autonomously arm the device, but the alarm must be bought next to the house's front door. Very similar to when a Sim takes off their shoes in Snowy escape, they will do it at the front door.
The alarm can be placed anywhere, and will stretch to a maximum Sim build square, before it goes off.

•If the alarm detects the burglar, the cops will automatically called, and the Sim can pick the company with ease. See below for more information,
Also a fast Sim can call the cops, and they will come, run to the burglar, and try to arrest them.
The Sim can call the cops from three different companies, randomly generated names. There will be a small fee to call the cops, which better companies will cost a bit more, but will be easier to catch and arrest the burglar.

•Finally Sims who called the cops to catch the burglar, or arrested themselves, will be reimbursed with a amount of money.
If the objects taken were expensive, they will be paid more. Similar to fires. Also burglars will be more attracted to expensive items.

Also, they can spawn at daylight, but the main cutoff is 7AM, which then the robbery rate is 0.5%.

BWAHAHA ? I’m sorry but I feel that, literally too. One time they stole my broken toilet, it was like the cheapest toilet too, and that’s all they decided to take. But yes, GENIUS ideas. They had this in The Sims 3 Pets for Nintendo 3Ds so that’s a throwback to my childhood.

People couldn't handle vampires. How are they going to handle burglers?
I'm still waiting for my vampires to be unnerfered.
They should make both of them them a lot challenge.
And vampires are actually better. They don't take precious items you have to replace. We need cops too.

I don't really miss them, but I would welcome them back if they had some interesting gameplay and are not like the kleptos. Maybe Sims can call the police and have them arrested, can get their stolen stuff back with house insurance, fight them or have pet dogs guard the door.

Burglars are really needed in Sims 4. the game is currently too predictable and burglars were something you needed to watch out for

If your Sim has high Fitness skill they can beat up the burglar and make them leave
