Build Beautiful Farm Challenge
Hi all, and welcome to build a beautiful farm challenge. Main goal is to build this lot (or one you create your own) having all these things and areas included. Play with simple living lot trait on. You can only use what you buy or grow.
Recommended games and addons: Basegame, Seasons, Cottage Living, Horse Ranch, Cats and Dogs. If you don´t have all of those, you can still do the challenge. Just choose from what you have. The main focus is on farming veggies, fruits and plants, fishing and building.
Challenge rules:
- Create a sim, this sim will be the farmer/owner of the lot.
- Choose a lot (you can use the lot i made for this challenge or create your own), the lot must be minimum of 50x50. I recommend 64x64 lot if you want more space for animals.
- Lot must be terraformed, it has to have river or pond, mountains and hills.
- Place minimum of 10 trees before you start the gameplay and use miminum of 10 decorations and items for the pond (you can also place pond animals such as ducks or fireflies).
- Place miminum of 5 Rocks.
After you have done all the things above, set the sims funds to zero. You can use cheat to do that but after that all money cheats are forbidden. Building cheats are allowed such as moveobjects and debug.
Your sim must earn their money by farming, animals and selling home made goodies and farmed fruits, veggies etc. Your farmer sim is not allowed to go work outside the farm, but it is allowed to have home career outside of farming such as painter or writer. You are also allowed to add and use crafting to make money such as candle making or jewelry making.
Your sim can open a farmers market, either open the market in the town or use sales table on your own lot to sell your self made things.
Goals and things that must be done, to unlock the next phase the previous must be done:
- Choose a method to make money, first fish, dig and collect diamonds and sell them to Build small camping area and a forest (with tent, campfire and grill, toilet and shower). Tip: you can use whats left from fishing, digging and collecting from the world for crafting, fertilising the soil etc.
- Build a farming area for vegetables, berries, herbs and flowers. You must have minimum of 15 different species growing there. You can plant whatever you find from the nature and you can also visit the Henford farmer stand and buy seeds from there. Note that you can also use oversized crops such as pumpkings etc. After your plants starts growing, you can harvest them and sell.
- Choose the first animal you want to live in your farm. For example, if you choose cows, place a cow shed, decorate and fence the area and buy the cow. (note that all animals count, mini sheeps too, you can also make bee farm if you want).
- Build a bridge cross the river or a bond. Fish and place fishes in it, create a fishing spot, decorate it nicely and add more pond items.
- Build orchard. Orchard must be fenced/its own area. Orchard must have miminum of 6 diffrent types of fruit trees crowing there. You can also include money tree.
- Build a cabin for your farmer sim. Build a cabin that has the miminum of 1 kitchen area, bedroom, bathroom, livingroom and crafting room for hobbies. The craft room must have at least one thing that makes money for your farmer sim such as knitting, painting, woodworking, jewelry making etc.
- Build a storage building and place mimimum of 4 chests there. Put all your collected items you dont need atm there.
- Build farmers market/sells area where you show off your self made foods, items and sell them or buy a retail lot and build a farmers shop and sells your stuff there. The lot however has to have some kind of market stall area even if you start retail.
- If you have horse Ranch, build a small barn for the horses and make a pasture for them. Then you can buy a horse or rescue one. You can also make on in CAS and add it to your lot. If you dont own the Horse Ranch EP, you dont have to do this phase, you can skip it.
- Make at least one area that is totally free to your own choise. You can use your imagination or use these themes here: Wedding arch, tea time garden, childrens playground, beach, gym, mushroom and diamond cave, rabbit path, bird spot, cemetery, yoga park, wellness spot. Make areas as much as you can fit on the lot. Mimimum requirement is one area.
Concrats, now you have completed the building part of the challenge. You can upload the lot to gallery, use hastag #bbgc or #farmbuildingchallenge . You can also make rooms and share them.

After this you can continue the challenge with gameplay challenge if you want and choose one or more from this list:
- Buy more animals and pets, build areas for their needs.
- Breed horses, race horses or breed cats and dogs.
- Build a greenhouse
- Find a spouse and have or adopt children
- Build upstairs to your cabin to add more rooms
- Expand your orchard, make nectars.
- Take a vacation somewhere.
- Start a bakery, retail or purchase a rental house.
- Start a club
Note that your sim can also be occult type of sim. If you have base game and no addons you can still do this challenge, just skip the animal/pets parts and focus on farming plants side of the challenge and building.
