A while back @rosemow suggesting starting a requests thread after I enjoyed very much taking on a request from @Amiutza. It allowed me to try a build I might never have otherwise. And as I'm certain most builders are aware of, it is always a nice feeling to build houses, etc. for others :)
So I figured it might be cool to have a thread where people could make requests and various builders could fulfil them (sorry if something like this already exists, I tried searching but could not see any).
Definitely into the Mediterranean style for oasis springs, I have that and a more western area. The only start maxis have along that theme is a basic square one that I’m not a fan of so that would be awesome!
@kilra0 oh very cool! Do you have pictures haha? Yes I started playing around with those back in the sims 3, where it was a bit easier with all the many useful items I have. Although I have gotten much better at them since then. Still I have only done them on roofs and it seems impossible to put them on doors or to mimic some of the crazy amazing ones you see in places like Paris. I am going to try some in alcoves maybe but that would require a much larger build. I started working on a remake of the drachenburg castle where I could try them but the build is so huge just imagining furnishing it is exhausting. I have a tendency to make a shell and forget about it unless it is smaller haha.
@nore ... the picture is not amazing looks like some buildings had an accident, I was just playing around to get an idea in my mind. The roof needs definatly a higher "house". But actually I wanted to create a low cozy vet clinic in a rural style. In the end I did another modern build. I'm more familiar with this style. :D Some pics of the fairy tale house are in this post
@nore The house you built for Amiutza is absolutely gorgeous! I love the outside and like building in this style myself. I however always have trouble with the decorations on the outside walls, how to make it look not boring and you did an amazing job with all the little statues etc!
"Nore;c-16172606" wrote: @Rumpelstiltskin So I created a shell and went over budget haha. This is going to be harder than I imagined. Here is what I built so far:
As you can see I'm not used to building starters haha. It seemed small at first but then the windows and all just skyrocketed the cost. I did create a nice little toddler hangout in the back though :)
Haha no worries, the design of the build is really pretty! I love the little archway you’ve built in by the car, it’s really fitting with the style too! And the toddler area is really well incorporated! ☺️
@Rumpelstiltskin Thanks :) I might try to make it smaller and still go for a starter, unless you really want me to keep it as it and just make it a regular house?
@Amiutza Finally fixed all the pathing issues in my Parisian house! Ended up actually having to redo a lot of things, pathing is much more complex than I ever realised haha. I also got rid of a lot of random clutter and lights in an effort to make the interior feel more natural. Also the waterfall does not look like what it does in the pictures, had to replace the rocks with plants because they wouldn’t place correctly, but it yet looks nice I feel :)
Story of the house: When Ms. #Baroque met Mr. #Modern it was amour at first sight! But they couldn't decide on a style, thus a compromise: buy a Baroque house and replace the inside with ultra-#contemporary furnishings! Who wants #17thcentury appliances anyway? Ms. Baroque, though, couldn’t give up her beloved style and snuck in a #Parisian #woman-cave! #noCC #French #Renaissance #mansion #family #flowerbed #undergroundpool #hometheatre #balcony #openfloorplan #waterfall #statues #playtested #winecellar #attic
Because women can have man-caves too, but just classier! Now, however, the quirky couple has moved to the French country and their home is yours to explore and take care of! There are many small details to delight your sims in ever nook and cranny. This is likely the most detailed build I have ever attempted. I wanted to go for a clashing styles theme, modelled after the many old buildings in Europe that have recently been renovated inside. In my pictures I placed the lot in the middle of an urban area, however, I imagine it would work well in a more country lot as a decadent maisonette. Enjoy!
Note that you do NOT have to have MOO on to place the lot. I tried both with and without and everything places the same way :)
(Apologies again for all the pictures, I’m trying to work on my picture taking abilities in general, with lighting, angle, zoom, height, location, etc. Feels like I’m getting a tad better since last time haha).

Front and rear roof accents, these were definitely my favourite part of the entire build, just adore that European style of tympanums. Can also see the balconies here with a sitting and meditation area, quiet places to get away from all the bustle going on outside. The front accent I call the Winged Ballerina, and the rear the Winged Knight haha (yes I got super excited when I saw an item that could work as wings from Dine Out, and could work as waves! I couldn't decide between wings or waves so now they are wings with ships sailing on them haha): https://serving.photos.photobox.com/18301360a01ac0001eca8056c994c3b3722ac2b5f0e0f3c23351b0c002e655220b85ee12.jpg
Now for the inside! Which goes to ultra-modern style. First the dining area: https://serving.photos.photobox.com/2702418177d1a55c555f7dbaba9f72fdf7a746bb6f461a980ce2e1a7447fe4da8686af3f.jpg

Overview of basement floor. This part is quite cool because this is where the "woman-cave" is haha, which is the only Baroque style indoors. I created a path which splits to Baroque on one side and modern on the other, which I felt symbolised the build overall quite well haha. And of course there's the wine cellar, which is always good lol: https://serving.photos.photobox.com/1108408265d7f9046638090bf7df043d7afaae4f0968d3296159eb3b3115dcf5a9b32252.jpg

Anyway, so sorry for the giant wall of text and pictures! I went a bit crazy with the tab mode and general excitement over finally finishing and fixing pathing haha.
@Rumpelstiltskin well I managed to cut the cost of the build by about a half down to around 27k, however that's just the shell haha, so it is yet too much for a starter. This is definitely much harder than I realised haha.
Oh wow I love it! Much prefer the outdoor changes you've made too! The pond is a great idea - That seems like an awful lot for 25k! :open_mouth: Gonna prepare myself a family to move in there asap! :)
