@Linamints if you weren't already able to resolve this, in order to delete a basement room, you have to actually select the room and then hit the delete key. Unfortunately, you can't just use the sledgehammer tool or delete individual walls of a room. I'm glad I saw this post, because it's one of the little, niggly things that has been bugging me for a while. I will add the request to our Build Mode Feedback thread.
