In addition to all these great ideas I'd love the ability to delete an item from within CAS while you're in there, the exact same way you can delete a lot or a sim in your library.
Sometimes I add a a piece of cc and it doesn't look as good in CAS or live mode as it did on the internet. Or far worse, after a while you just decide you don't want that dress, or eyeshadow, or whatever it is anymore. If the creator didn't include a name in the thumbnail now you have to try and guess which specific item you need to delete. If you have even a small mod folder, it isn't always easy finding that one piece.
Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but there's an easier way to find CC you don't want anymore than just sorting through each file one by one. You'll need to download The Sims 4 Tray Importer, just google the name and it should be the first result.
Create a new household with sims of the appropriate gender/frame/age for the CC you don't want, and make sure there's no CC in any of the Sims' outfits (including hair, tattoos, skin details, etc).
Load them up with all of the CC you want to delete, then save it to your library.
Open up The Sims 4 Tray Importer and choose that household.
Click "CC" at the top. From here, you should be able to narrow down the list of CC in that family by Sim and CAS Part type.
Right clicking on each item listing should show you a thumbnail and tell you the file name. If you left click, you can choose "Show containing folder ..." from the context menu and it'll open an Explorer window with that file highlighted.
Delete the file. Voila!
This is also very helpful for finding broken CC. I'm not sure how it interacts with custom swatches through the makeup color sliders. Either way, it's easier than sorting through every single file in Sims 4 Studio.
