Next up are two somewhat trashy builds. I'll start with the community space focusing on an old train station in San Mishuno that was abandoned when the new railway bridge was built. I built it in the southern lot of Spice Market district that originally had a loft building in it, but of course it works on any 30x30 or bigger lot like a 30x40.
Old Station (Community Space)It is inspired by dead-end stations which are common in older stations in bigger European cities.

Old Station (Maker Space)Here the tracks were left as they were and simply boarded over to create more space. The outer wings of the roof were removed and replaced with a more open area while the central glass roof was left intact.

Old Station (Marketplace)The structural changes to the building are quite similar to the maker space. The main difference is that instead of simply boarding over the tracks, here the floor has glass panes inserted which allow a glimpse onto the old tracks underneath.

Old Station (Community Garden)This version has the biggest structural changes, as the complete roof was simply torn down and the structure left open and covered in plants. The lower walkways will still be somewhat protected by the upper ones but the old tracks, where the gardening areas are, are left uncovered. That way the plants get more sunlight as well as natural watering.
