Consider the Disabled

If and when Maxis decides to add anything at all for the disabled into TS4 or a future game, I hope they will also consider it's not only the lack of representation in The Sims but perhaps hardships with pc gaming and controls of a UI and mouse/keyboard etc. for those who do have a disability and no longer can play pc games.

Here are articles and suggestions, Maxis, that I hope you will think about soon. The following article link explains from players why they have a hard time with pc games in general though they play many other type games.

Also, Some great places to get insight into what type of Sim that could be a representation of a disabled child or gifted child player are places like Easter Seals who hold camps for children and do a lot of great work who help companies see how important inclusion is for the disabled, especially children. Or No Barriers Organization and dozens more.

I understand you have done a lot of investigating in how this would all be possible in The Sims, but I want to remind you children with disabilities are waiting to see themselves in The Sims.
  • I like your idea. My concern would be how can that translate into the game and making it enjoyable to play? My attitude to gaming has changed over the years and with Sims it’s to get away from real life events.
I remember a thread about wheelchairs and yes I would like that.

However, having really ill Sims might be distressing. Having accidents might not appeal.

I would like to suggest one route. The idea of a camp where your Sim could get a job caring for ill kids. Sims 2 had flu so they have something like that. Some kids might be support walking etc, or push a wheelchair or you could cut up thier food.
Perhaps learning about stuff whilst having fun is a good way to explore.
One idea is a Sim getting a summer job caring for the kids. Learning about illness and advancing how to care better. Perhaps the camp could be a venue so you could choose which world.

I don’t know if this was what you meant and I apologise if I have misunderstood.

    Inclusion is important.
