Honestly, I’m not sure which is more accurate, eternal life or eternal youth, but I never let my merfolk age past young adult, so they never die from old age.
That’s actually a rule I’m very strict with.
I will not play life stages for merfolk that don’t have a merman or mermaid form.
I will not age my merfolk past young adult.
It’s how I stay true to one of the more popular appearances of merfolk.
