@DaniRose2143 While I would say that my merfolk maintain qualities of beauty and handsomeness associated with a particular age, they are not true immortals. In my mind, my merfolk can still die, just not by old age.
I don’t think I was imagining vampires though.
I was imagining the depictions from various Disney Movies and TV shows as well as a spin off of H20, Mako Mermaids.
The Merfolk in the Harry Potter universe would be the opposite of my merfolk while still being a popular appearance.
Knowing the difference does help.
