"Haven't you noticed how cold it's gotten?" Dylan asked.

"Not really." Zeph answered. "I mean, we aren't affected by the temperature outside..."

"Now that you mention it... Maybe it's just seeing humans with more layers on?"

Dylan stopped to think. 'Now, I feel a bit embarrassed. The temperture feels fine like it always does.'

Zeph lept out of the water and caught Dylan by surprise. As he slipped back into the sea, Zeph flicked his fluke and splashed his twin.

Dylan waved his hand through the ocean and splashed back. "What was that for?"

"You looked a little too lost in thought. Did that "hat" mess with your head?"

"Of course it didn't, squid brain!"

"And, it's called a father winter hat!" Dylan mimiced his father. "Humans wear them when they bundle up in the cold. Humans are more vulenrable to winter chills."

"Something merfolk are immune to." Zeph continued to mimic. "And that's just another reason why humans have "outfits" and merfolk don't."

As the sun set, Calum and Kemps swam up to the twins.

"We were looking everywhere for you two!" Calum struggled to contain his frustration.

"You're dad was worried that you would celebrate winterfest without him." Kemps added.

"Dad, why would we celebrate without you." Zeph said.

"Besides, it's not even Winterfest." Dylan added.

"It's almost Summer!" Calum replied.

Calum turned to Kemps. "I've heard that Winterfest sometimes happens during the summer!"

Dylan and Kemps gasped. "No way!"

"On the opposite side of the world, the seasons are also the opposite." Zeph chuckled.

"A human fortune teller told me that Winterfest in the summer is real!" Calum insisted.

"And you believed a human?" Kemps asked.

"Humans can sometimes be reliable sources." Calum said.

"Dad, Father Summer is a myth. Everyone knows that!" Dylan replied.

"Guess who I am?" Dylan held his hands on his belly and laughed.

"Maybe Father Spring." Zeph remarked.

"Isn't there a different mythical being during Springfest?" Kemps asked.

"Zeph, there isn't a Father Spring, even I know that." Calum corrected.

Calum turned to Kemps. "The name is on the tip of my tongue... give me a second."

"Regardless, the humans are bundling up for cold weather. We can pretend it's Winterfest and celebrate!"

"I mean, we are wearing these "hats" for a reason, right?" Zeph added.

"It's the Flower Bunny!" Calum snapped his finger and pointed. "The Flower Bunny appears during Springfest!"

"Let's not forget the Magical Liopleurodons in the deep!" Kemps enthused.

"Or was it Leo De Caspian that made scultptures of a Liopleurodon?" Kemps asked himself.

"Anyways," Kemps continued telling the mermadic urban legend. "The Magical Liopleurodons would tell Vincent Da Capricorn about wonders in the deep whenever he sailed the open ocean."

"Many merfolk debate how the Magical Liopleurodons went extinct, but all of them agree that human fighting was the ultimate cause. Everyone wanted the treasures they told Vincent about. It was Leo De Caspian, a well-known merman, that captured the stories in sculptures and art!"

"And that's the story of Leo De Caspian and the Magical Liopleurodons!"

"I feel like a squid brain after hearing that story." Zeph replied.

"What does that have to with Winterfest or Springfest?" Dylan asked.

"Bro, leave the human holiday stuff to the expert." Calum added.

"Well, I thought it was a great story." Kemps said.

"I think cleaning up Triton Beach is going to be a lot more fun than that story." Calum replied. "No offense."

"Dad, are you really going to clean up the human ruins?" Dylan asked.

"Well, I think it will help you guys learn to blend in with humans." Calum explained.

"We can't exactly ignore the ruins either." Kemps added. "So, we decided to clean up the ruins and make it a hang out for the pod. You two and the merchildren will be welcome to explore the ruins after we clean them up."

"I can't wait!" Dylan enthused.

"We want to help!" Zeph added.

Calum turned to his older brother. "We'll probably need the help."

"They can help, but they'll have to stay out of trouble. I don't want any fins tangled in debris."

"Deal!" Dylan and Zeph said in unison.
