I'm going to preface my comment by saying a few things outright: I used to be a designer for a segment of the company, of which I will not go into specifics. I am not, in any way, affiliated with Disney. However, from my time there, I did learn a lot about creating product for consumers and the specifics that go into getting things approved legally and design wise.
There are so many approval processes that go into Disney product (of any kind, licensed or authentic/exclusive) and it gets very expensive. There are countless and very strict guidelines to follow ESPECIALLY when Disney is involved with a project. There is also their brand/product integrity to think about - there are ways they will not want their name represented in games, toys, media, clothing, accessories, etc. Characters are supposed to stay within their stories - i.e. you should not see Rapunzel driving a car because cars do not exist in her world or story. (I emphasize "supposed to" because that rule does get broken quite a lot, but not because they liked the idea or made an exception. Usually it's a rogue decision that was missed or they were not consulted. Same with why so many licensed product seems questionable as well.)
Now with Ralph Breaks the Internet there are some muddy waters, as the princesses (official and non-official, which is already a huge marketing no-no for Disney merchandise standards), appeared together, and in casual clothing at that. I think since they created a digital world focusing on the internet and how their characters may appear on that, they allowed their IP to be seen in a way that hadn't ever been done before. But adding their characters into a game that they have no affiliation with, one they do not control, is probably never going to happen. I mean, that's not to say that it DEFINITELY won't happen... but I don't believe they would partner.
HOWEVER, I could see a collaboration with, say, Oh My Disney. It could be a pack that introduces clothing and accessories that are Disney inspired. Graphic tees, costumes for children (MAYBE adults), bracelets/necklaces, *possibly* ear hats and headbands... etc.
With ALL of that said, it would be a terribly expensive and (believe me) time consuming project for The Sims team. That time and money should go to something a little more valuable to our game. I know I PERSONALLY would rather see The Sims have their own heroes/villains/etc. if they chose to go that route. I haven't looked, but I'm sure there are brilliant mods and CC that anyone could use if they wanted Disney in their game. Might be useful to stick to that instead! :)
