I want to try to use floor plans while building to teach myself how to build different styles of houses better. But I'm really stuck on trying to convert real people homes to sim homes. I mean, my sims don't need closets or anything like that, but people do. Same with garages.
Closet can be ignored - Garages can be turned into kids play areas or other rooms :)
But then wouldn't the walls be thrown off in other rooms because of the missing closets?
I am a very literal person here, so if it is really, really obvious that it wouldn't mess it up one bit, I'm sorry. I've been accused of that before by my family. But if you have utility closets in a floor plan that cuts into a den area, wouldn't taking out that closet expand the room and mess with the dimensions of that room? Or if it was on the corner and you remove the corner, it would change the shape of the house. Or if you just expanded that room then it would make the room too big....
Serious question here: is it one of those things where I just have to take a leap of faith and try it out before I actually "get it"? After typing that I feel like I may be over thinking things here.
