- I did a few times in Sims 1, but sims 1 was so limiting. Sims 2, did it again a few times, before I started making my own creations. Sims 3, I did it quite a bit, before I started making my own creations. Have not done it at all in Sims 4. My creations are 100% originals.

No utility room because there is no hot water tank, furnace, or switch box. No laundry, so no need for a laundry room. No need for a mud room without coats or muddy boots. Kids don't seem to mind sharing bedrooms, so I can stuff them in together for smaller homes. Sims use dressers instead of closets. No need for a cleaning closet either, etc.

I tend to put all of those thins in anyway. I know it's not needed, but I think it looks nice anyway.
I usually will use house plans just for the outside and use my own imagination for the rooms I put in. It's really fun building, but sometimes I just get stuck when trying to come up with something. - I have three house plan magazines, one is small home, one is cabins and such, then the other one is regular homes, they have all kinds in each magazine. I use to use them in sims 3, I will get them out and look for a home to build, also there are some nice web sights that have home plans. You can print them out if you want. Or copy to a word program. It is a lot of fun, should be interesting in Sims 4.
- I've been wanting to for a while now, but haven't found a decent one to use yet. I can be pretty picky.
- I used to do it all the time when I play TS2. It helped push me to try different things. I also started creating house layouts with graph paper. It was so much fun. I actually pulled them out when I started playing TS4. I found sites online that allowed me to download house plans for free. I have 2 magazines that I got, too.
- I use house plans all the time. When I don't use plans all my houses start to look really similar because I tend to stick with ideas I know work and don't come up with new designs. I also base houses off of my house and my friend's houses.
- Oh, of course. I'm terrible at figuring out floor plans and remembering to add things like linen closets, powder rooms, and laundry rooms, so floor plans are a must. But it's frustrating for me to try and recreate the exterior of a house, because I'm not very good at it and it always winds up looking way different than the original, so I almost always go off the cuff with exteriors. :P
- I have used the plans on www.houseplans.com for years; I probably couldn't build much of a house without using a floor plan LOL
- I want to try to use floor plans while building to teach myself how to build different styles of houses better. But I'm really stuck on trying to convert real people homes to sim homes. I mean, my sims don't need closets or anything like that, but people do. Same with garages.
- I made 3 houses for the moment. One was based on a plan and the two other from my imagination.
