Hey @BryonRae, I'm getting use to the building tools, though they do drive me crazy too.
I'm glad to hear Showcasing Your Lots Workshop helped you become a better builder, though I doubt I will be starting one here. I was thinking of a "Fid Feature" type of thread that recognizes lots that Maxi doesn't recognize, which seems to be lacking in TS4. Perhaps a way for a group of experienced builders to do their own selection of curated lots. That's the way it should be anyway, with well recognized builders within the community deciding what lots should get attention, without prejudice or favoritism.
We could also have a section for sim creation and household creation, and those by recognized sim creators and household creators. I'd just like to find a way to get around this idea that to even get your lot appreciated by a wide swath of the simmer community, a sim guru has got to curate it, otherwise it's sent out to Siberia with little notice at all.
If it can become popular enough, simmers will come to it to find what the best builders think are lots worthy to download and fav, and not just the Maxi curated lots pre-selected by Maxi employees. It might work or it might flop but it's worth a try. Or like my thread, get accidentally deleted two or three times.
I do know that my thread did not get pasted to the top for the first couple of years by sim gurus and yet it became the most popular thread in its day. It wasn't until sometime after it was pasted that it finally lost its popularity, but then, I got tired of keeping up with it also.
We'll see, but if you or anyone else has any ideas, I'd be happy to hear them concerning this. We could also hold challenges within the thread.
