How do you build a platform inside a building?

Can anyone that knows how please help me understand how to build a platform inside a building? I want to make a stage life effect to place instruments on, like the piano and can't seem to get it right. Thanks for any help on this so much.

Just go to the platforms in the build menu, click whatever shape platform you want, Place it where you want, and start stacking them to get the height you want! It won’t interfere with what you’ve already put down, however, you can’t put it against a wall. Hope this helps!


    Official platforms weren’t around when this thread was created so it’s a lot easier to make them now.

    A basic, unmoved platform is one step up so if it's on flat ground you don't need steps for your Sims.
