How many floors do you put into most of your home builds?

  • It depends how many sims are in the household and how I'm planning to play that save. If it's a family, I'll generally have two floors. If it's a couple or one sim, I'll have one floor.
  • I usually make two to three floors maximum depending on the size of the family, but I love playing in small houses.
  • Usually, for wealthier households, I will build two to three floors and a basement. I believe anything more can become cumbersome.

Occasionally, I do like to build Condos and office buildings with four floors for mostly the great views that you can get as opposed to just two floors.
  • I put one... but really it's 1-2 stories. I like one story homes mostly because of toddlers and kitten/puppies. To keep a toddler happy/fed/from being taken away it's just easier to have one story. Plus it's painful to watch them climb and descend the stairs. Also, kittens and puppies can't climb stairs (at least I haven't been able to get them to.)
  • I'm horrible. I like my sims to basically have everything I have in the game. But, I have to admit, that it is less hectic when I play a one story house. When I played the Sims3, I almost always used 64x64 with at least two floors and a basement and they had all the store and all the rest too. It took a huge house for it all. :)
  • Three & a basement

I cant seem to add the lil coloured block back, but i voted(sorry)

I tend to start 2 storey as standard. But then have kids and shove them in the attic so they have an entire floor to themselves and don't hog the main bathroom then the basement differs.
Sometimes I will use it as a skill space, like an art studio but more recently - the Laundry
  • Multi-story houses look impressive, but I like to be able to find my Sims just by looking around. I also favor smaller lots and larger households, so one story often isn't enough. I like living/everyday activity on the ground floor and bedrooms upstairs.

Whether or not the house gets an attic or basement depends on the build. My farm house has a finished basement, my asylum has a basement and an unfinished attic, but those are extras.
