How would you add gameplay depth?
A common complaint that I see on the boards is that the game lacks depth. I see many complaints but few ideas for how to correct this. This is just for fun so don't send me looking for other thread...

Long term aspirations that you can't change, those would actually define a sim's lifegoal instead of the current aspirations that are more like short-term hobbies in my opinion
Improved whims, with whims related to traits, aspiration, current sentiments toward other sims, current active lifestyles... Akin to Sims 2 "Wants". I actually didn't like "Fears" for some reason but I have to admit it added some depth to our Sim so yeah.
Wants made it seem like your Sim had a mind on their own, it was great for immersion.
Chemistry, turn on/turn offs. I'm surprised this still isn't a thing.
Not necessarily memories, but a Sim sometimes reminiscing a past event and reacting to it for a few seconds
