How would you improve Teens?
Just curious how or if you guys would change the teen life stage.

- I don't mind their height as in reality some teens can be taller then their parents and if you do that, we should be able to adjust all sims heights (after all, nobody is the same height) and that would be too hard probably.
The problem is that they even share the same clothing as adult sims. They need more exclusive content to really help separate them. Maybe they can breakout with acne and not just be a face detail. Be able to go to prom, etc....
Also someone said, they need different aspirations. They can't get married or have kids, so why do they have some of aspirations? It is very limited. Why not have like a prom queen or king one? Where they have to try and make friends and all that in order to have a higher chance at becoming prom queen. They can even unlock special items if they win.
Parenthood sort of helped a bit. They allow them to listen to loud music and obsess over bands. May they can like specific music or shows more? Example is that kids like watching kid shows and listening to kids music, so maybe teens can prefer like rock music and rebel against their parents and sneak out of the house, etc...With curfews, maybe if we get cops back, they can send teens who get caught home or give them a warning and if they don't listen, take them to the police station for awhile.
Ooh also need like some band posters and all that and wild hairstyles and more alternative clothing. It is not always against rules to dye hair or have piercings (there are some dress codes though), it really depends where you live. Where I live, there are so many different people including alternative subcultures, it really isn't that common to see people of all ages to have colored hair. Even some elderly people have purple hair (though some jobs besides Hot Topic, Stylist, etc... may be more strict/picky). I used to have bright red and even black and purple hair and everyone loved it.
I remember teens used to be able to throw house parties and get into trouble as well have an option to be home or private school (but child could also get those options) and maybe have field trips again. Maybe sims have to get their parents to sign permission slips and if they don't (maybe if they are grounded, they aren't allowed), they miss out and get either sad or angry. Those that do go can get some items relating to that trip. They can also earn scholarships for private schools which can help them once we get University. - More age specific content would be cool as people have been mentioning. Things like crazy amounts of piercings, more edgy/alternative hairstyles and clothing, accessories etc.
I think it would be cool to have more phases like the ones in parenthood. Like maybe an "emo" phase or something similar where they want to brood and wear lots of black and makeup and stuff. Maybe they beg their parents for a tattoo.
Also added relationship options, like the option to tag a sim as a crush. They would get flustered around their crush, get an "awkward" moodlet, etc. This would bring meaning to the socialization option "reveal crush".
Also, as has been mentioned, more depth to schooling. I have no doubt that a ep or gp will be released that involves school somehow because that part of the game is so lacking so far. I really miss being able to invite the headmaster over to be able to get in to private school and how sims accepted would have a uniform. I never had ts3 generations, but proms, graduations and teen house parties seem to have been an amazing addition and I would love to see that in ts4.
Ts4 teens have a lot of room to grow and although I think parenthood was an awesome step forward I think they have a long way to go before they resemble a real life stage rather than just young adults who attend high school. - The problem for me is that Teens just look so similar to adults right now. We need our teens to look different, rather than a new lifestate.
- I really miss what they did in Sims 3 when my teens were always trying to stay out after the town curfew and had gotten brought home in the police car or when they got busted for having a party when the parents were away.

Yeah, full of school uniform options and variations.- Parenthood really did a wonderful job already and helped to differentiate teens from adults, but I don't think it is enough. I still think teens should be slightly shorter and have more childlike facial features. This would really help to differentiate them from (young) adults.

But I voted for content exclusive things for teens, mostly activities or events for them to experience.
I got bored and wrote a long list of ideas I would like to see for teens.

Activities/Hobbies- Cheerleading
- Gymnastics
- Hobby classes, like dance class (ballet, hiphop, etc), music lessons, painting/drawing class, ceramics class, etc.
- Drawing (not painting) - in sketchbooks/journals
- Sports - Football, Soccer, Baseball, Wrestling, Skateboarding, etc.
- Animations to mimic popular dances or popular memes, like salt bae, spongebob, dab, etc. Sounds silly but everywhere I go, I see kids + teens doing these things lol I've also seen it on Fortnite (the dances).
- Dancing together (for prom/high school dances please!)
- Baking with friends
- Bands - Bass, drums, etc. for your teen to create a band with their friends
- Transportation - Fixing up cars/bikes, learning to drive, ride bike, or skateboard. Increases handiness, logic, and fitness skill maybe?
- Swings that they can chill or swing on
- Recording themselves or their friends doing silly things with their phones or cameras and upload it to social media for followers
- Poses! - Teens (or all ages maybe) can pose for the camera, doing peace signs, tongue out, kissy faces, etc. (Having the option to choose their pose, like in sims 2)
- Laptops!
- Play video games with other friends via computer or tv and they talk through headsets/headphones.

New lots- Secret Lots - This could probably work similar to the house call events where the sim is taken to a lot and can complete tasks. One lot could be a field for cheerleading practice, football practice, soccer practice, baseball practice, etc. After a few practice events, it could host a game so that friends and family can sit on the bleachers, dance/take pics with the mascot, spill popcorn everywhere while cheering/booing. The next lot could be a basketball court/gym that can host games (basketball/wrestling), practices, pep rallies, as well as school dances.
- Arcade - new games to play like Pac-Man machine, Rollercoaster simulation, Dance Dance Revolution, basketball game, Skee, Air Hockey, Ping Pong, Claw crane machine, photobooth etc. Maybe a room for laser tag or glow in the dark mini golf.
- Movie Theaters - Giant screen, ticket booth, plenty of seats to pick from, concession stand, photobooth, etc. Maybe even a drive in theater.
- Skateboard Park - if they add skateboarding as an activity, friends can chill here, do tricks, etc.
- Concert Venue - for celebrities/bands to perform and your teen sim can obsess over them and watch them, or for your teen sims to perform with their band.
- Diner - Johnny Rockets/Mel's Diner/Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe vibes. Functioning diner booths, milkshakes, kitchen sink ice cream, floats, etc.
- Garage - not really a lot, but something new for your lot. A garage door that opens/closes. Driveway for cars to park on. (For garage band hobby or fixer upper car)
- School - at least the option to see if your child is taking notes, playing around, passing notes, skipping class, etc. Then maybe the secret lots won't be so secret lol It will just be part of the school lot.
Events/Occurances- Private Schools - Like in Sims 2, parents could talk to principal to schmooze/impress so that their children can attend private school. This would unlock uniforms for students, new trophies for them, new mascot, a new school name, etc.
- School Dances - Prom, Homecoming, Seasonal Dances. Your teen can help decorate the gym for the dance.
- Sleep Overs - Face masks, pillow fights, asking friends for advice, reading magazines, doing each other's makeup/nails, play video games, listen/dance to music loudly, sneaking out with friends, wrestle, making milkshakes/smoothies/protein shakes, etc.
- Themed Days at school where teens can dress up (kind of like how some high schools have senior week or homecoming week)
- Teens can throw parties while parents without parent's permission and possibly get punished? (I don't know if that's already an option actually.. I've never tried it)
- School Bus that can pick the kids up in the morning!!!!!
- Firsts - First everything! (first dance with someone, first car, first sports game, first recital, first band, first cycle, first crush, first love, etc.) This would be perfect for teens or even pre-teen stage. First time for anything is always a big deal for teens so I'd emphasize on those first moments to use them as great teaching moments.
- NPCs that Teens often interact, prank, or argue with - like police, teachers, counselor, bus drivers, coach, etc.
- Running away or Sneaking Out - (Like in sims 2, the police can look for them and bring them back to the angry parents/caretakers waiting for them by the door, who then yells or grounds the teen)
- Stress-related Acne (When teens get tense/mortified mood swings or moodlets from school related problems)
- Vending machines with Junk Food, like bags of chips, cookies, candy, energy drinks, etc. The teen could break out with acne if they eat too much of it. They could also have a sugar rush or crash from the energy drink. (Possibly a new death for shaking the vending machine)
- The Fair - fair food, ice cream trucks, dippin' dots, fair rides, rollercoasters, games to win prizes, ferris wheel, cotton candy. This would be cute for first date ideas.
- Teachers would be a new career for adults!!!!!
- Tutoring for adults - gets teens ready for big exams
- Tutoring for teens - unlocks for teens who have good grades to tutor teens/children who don't have good grades.
Style- Backpacks
- Tattoos - elbows, wrists, shoulder, spine, fingers, neck (in general for ages teens and up)
- Piercings - nose, tragus, helix, industrial, belly button, eyebrow, multiple ear piercings, under lip (xtina style), dimples, cheekbone (dermal i think). Again for teens and up
- Speaking of dimples, maybe adding dimples in the game as a new facial feature or detail for sims
- Decor/furniture for their room - like keep out signs for doors/walls, video games, bean bags, stolen street signs, magazines/posters, bunkbeds, Murphy bed, new wallpapers, etc.
- Clothes that teens tend to wear, like graphic tees, crop tops, fishnets, t-shirt dresses, denim skirts, patterns, high waisted bathing suits, neon colors, etc. Could be content exclusive or available for adults but I would like more styles that would technically be geared towards teens. Lots of interesting concepts they can draw from. Part of me wants the clothes available for teens & older sims that way I can make geezers dress like this while teens dressed in more conservative clothes would be mortified and embarrassed by their grandparents trying to be hip.- Cheerleading
- I'm disappointed that EA hasn't improved teens yet. The game came out years ago and it's now 2018...why are teens STILL like young adults/adults? It's frustrating to find any age appropriate clothing because teens/YA/adults/elders can ALL wear the same clothes! Why haven't you fixed this yet,EA? I can't send my YA/adult sims on dates because I can't tell whether someone is a teen or adult from looking at them.
- I really hope they don't shorten the teens and just give them more teen activities I feel like they are trying to dumb down the teens especially in season and having teens be a scout with badges is nothing wrong with that I just don't want the teens having the same badges as a kid because why be a scout as teen when it's the same badges I don't get it hopefully that's not the case. I feel like the teens are so boring is because we dont have the activities the teens need to improve. We don't have cars so they can't drive we don't have a teen hangout unless we make a club but other sims like adult ya and elders come and crash the hang out. I think we need prom, homecoming, football, have the option to take a date to the movies. If we get an education gamepack that will probably/if not fix teens because they will have something to do.
