It's ok @Maddanna, I'm sure Inge is not upset. But yes, calling someone rude for posting what they'd like for toddlers was probably not the best choice of words. Personally I've never seen anyone ask for nose-picking toddlers but it's entirely possible I missed that. Sometimes life is good. ;)
I just think that in general (not just directed to you) a lot of trouble is created in this forum when members start getting confrontational (even if it's not in a nasty way) with others over their opinions. I think a much more positive approach is to just state ones own wishes, thoughts, ideas, etc. rather than to comment negatively about someone else's. This forum would be a much nicer place if we'd all remember to do that (and I include myself in that because I don't always do this either).
Now to make this post more on-topic, I want to add that I almost always play families in the sims. I might start off with a single but honestly I find playing just one sim boring so they don't stay that way for long. So I enjoy watching my sims have children and raise them and each family has a different life - they might be farmers and gardeners, they might be celebrity actors, or they might be scientists or teachers. Family is very important to me in real life and I enjoy playing them in the Sims. TS4 falls flat for me in several areas but one of the big ones is that families just do not feel complete without all the life stages we've had in the past. It already has an exaggerated cartoon vibe that's not my preference; watching a crib baby spring into a child just ruins the immersion and adds to the whole cartoon atmosphere. With TS1 we didn't have anything to compare it to, but now we do.
Actually most all of the life stages in this game are lacking except for children and YA/A, and that just makes the whole family experience lacking IMO. For me it's just not enjoyable to play without more unique age stages. So I really hope that someday we'll have a game that includes them all again, and that some of the really awesome ideas in this thread for toddlers come to life.
