I really hope this means we're going to actually get toddlers. I had almost given up hope completely. Everyone has had such excellent ideas, so just a few things:
- We definitely need toddler pools and sand boxes and strollers and so many of the other items mentioned. Not to mention a plethora of outfits and hairstyles and hair bows and ribbons and socks and tiny shoes and everything!
- The walking, talking, potty training, etc. skills should be treated as actual skills, with a five or ten level limit, just like cooking, or the children's skills. For example, at walking skill level one, the toddler could crawl; at skill level two they could pull themselves up to standing using nearby furniture like chairs; at level three they could walk holding onto furniture; at four they could walk while pushing walking toys like those ride-or-push cars; at five they could walk without assistance; at every level increase their wobbliness and chances of falling would decrease slightly unless they were attempting something at a higher skill level like walking alone when only at level two; and following similar patterns for any other toddler skills.
- Also with the toddler skills, there should be multiple ways for the toddler to learn the skill. With the logic skill you can level up by playing chess, or using the telescope, or the microscope slide machine, etc. etc. With the toddler skills, they should be able to learn with assistance from parents or siblings or other sims, or from attempting axioms themselves, or from playing with a variety of items. That's more realistic.
- The idea of mischief in toddlers is fantastic! I want drawing on walls, and tantrums, and everything else everyone has already said. Their emotions and traits could really affect their behavior in this regard: a creative toddler might be more inclined to draw at the art set when inspired, but on walls when angry; a neat toddler would hardly ever leave their toys out unless they were angry while a slob toddler might only clean up while focused or happy and would get better moodlets from messes; there is so much potential!
