So as an aside from the family play thread chat I wanted to offer people a place to suggest their ideas for a perfect scenarios for toddlers in TS4 in a bite size format as suggested by a couple of us...

I think it would be awesome if parents with certain traits could influence their toddlers during the learning stage. For example, a nice sim could train the toddler to grow up with the nice trait if they interact enough, while an evil sim (an evil parent or sibling for example) could pass on the evil trait if they interact enough. I would also really love the opportunity to be able to run your own daycare or send your toddlers off to daycare. I think being able to hire a nanny or send your kids off to daycare will be a nice option for people who don't want toddlers and don't want to age them up because of the benefits of the nurturing process. You should be able to interview the sims who work at the daycare to find out what traits they have that could influence the toddlers too. If you run a daycare, you should be able to choose what you specialize in (e.g. general care, music, charisma, logic, character building, motor skills, etc). Objects like the walker and playpen could also help those who hate toddlers (I'll never get this, but I'm sick of the extremely negative, anti-toddler thread, and these are my solutions).
I miss the parenting skill and couples counselling from TS2. I think they could improve upon the parenting skill by changing the outcome of interactions with babies/ toddlers. For example, sims with bad parenting skill might not do a good job changing diapers, or heat the milk up too hot. They will also have less of a chance passing on traits to their toddlers during the nurturing period. I really want sims with decent parenting skills to be able to talk down to parents with less parenting skills- this is one of life's most annoying things, but SO realistic. Everyone should have sims in their game that they love to hate >:)
Maybe the Guru's could come up with a Venue for parenting and lamaze classes for the expectant couple - where they can learn to take care of newborns and toddlers. I think those could be some fun classes. Also parents of toddlers could have a mommy or daddy and me parenting club as well, seeing clubs are in the game already - it could be added to the generations pack.
LOL- I would love a dad club and a mom club, pretty much a club for parents to share tips and constantly judge each other.
