I have a few question-suggestions for the thread (and Gurus) to consider:
1) How should the Traits system have to change to accommodate a toddler age group?
... Should toddlers get one Trait slot, children upgrade to two, teens three, and YA four, Adults & Elders get five maybe?
... Or will toddlers and children both get one slot, and nothing else changes?
... If pre-teens were also added, would this strengthen the necessity to adjust slots, or would they simply copy the teen model?
... Wouldn't this be a good pack-spansion to add more trait slots, and more traits?
2) How should the Skills system have to change to accommodate a toddler age group?
... Should toddlers get the same skilling options as children currently have, and when they age up to children they get to skill through faster to the adult options they can open up?
... Should toddlers get a more truncated option than children, with only the basic Potty/Talk/Walk type skills available, say up to level 5?
... If they get a toddler-only skill set, then what else besides the basic three would you like to see added?
. . . A.) Potty-Training +5
. . . B.) Talking +5
. . . C.) Walking +5

Examples:
. . . If Potty Training is incomplete somehow by the next birthday, is there a chance of bed-wetting as a child?
. . . Learn a handful of Nursery Rhyme songs (opens up at Talking 3?)
. . . ClimbingOn Furniture/Counters etc (Opens up at Walking 3?)
. . . Tidyness (toddlers get dirty 100% faster than other ages at first /zero-skill, and stay cleaner /gets dirty at a more normal rate at 5 skill)

OH! My personal request dear Gurus, please convert every adult hair (BG+Packs) for toddlers and children! The lack of options for kids is strongly felt even now, and toddlers I feel will end up the same. PLEASE, as a gesture of good will, give kids and toddlers every hair that adults can wear!
AND PLEASE, for goodness sake, give baby-objects access to all 18 skin colors! This weird mix&match of pink babies turning into yellow skinned children is annoying as heck, and bonus points if you can use their parents' eyes as a reference instead of that generic color for every baby. More baby-object recolors!

Other thoughts:
- BABIES: If babies must continue to be tied to bassinets, please add new options to that object.
... Cradle-swing meshes with the crib tuning
... Topless/cheap/spartan bassinets for poor or minimalist sims
... Fancy/expensive bedding with silk/lace bunting for wealthier families (perhaps special actions for each type?)
... LOTS OF RECOLORS FOR EACH.
- TODDLERS: I want to see toddlers have a special ability to open kitchen counter doors and pull out pots and pans like with toys from the toy box. Unless a teen+ puts it away, the pot will stay out for the toddler to play with again later. No easy disappearing-pan-cleanup. Maybe a limit of four items? Pot, pan, ladle, wooden spoon?
- CHILDREN: Children are not as helpless as they are made out to be in TS4.
... Please allow children to help with the gardening!
... Please allow children to make themselves peanut butter or lunchmeat sandwiches, and gain a light start towards cooking skills. The option to "Watch Parent Cook" would be a great way to activate that skill!
... Give children more ways to play together, not just via the dollhouse; games like Tag, Cops & Robbers, Mary Mack, the ability to Dress Up and Put On A Play for the adults.
*Quick Addition: Bring back bathing babies in the sink, and bathing toddlers in the bathtub. (Am I mis-remembering, or could you wash two toddlers at the same time in 2/3?
Either way, in 4 if we could bathe twins at the same time, or two kids could take a bubbly bath at the same time and play something like The Sea Monster And The Pirate Ship together, that would be a great excuse to keep a tub in the house. As it is I only use showers.)
