Ideas for Implementing Multi-Purpose Lots
Although venues allow for specific lots with special perks, they are sometimes too... restricting. Lots are no longer empty palettes to fit every and any need, which makes it difficult to play a lot with more than one function. (Restaurant/nightclub/retail, for example) This also makes it difficult to create large community lots with multiple venues.
However, TS4 has been utilizing "Lot Traits" more and more, and I believe that this could also be used to solve the multi-purpose problem. You could say, have a restaurant lot with a "Nightclub" trait, that would not only promote nightclub-based interactions like dancing, but tie a DJ to a booth whenever the lot is loaded. The way it stands, you have to manually hire ancillary NPCS that take forever to show up, if show up at all.
