Hey all, what are your thoughts about how to make the game more fun to play re finances? Doesn't it seem like it's too easy/not interesting enough to buy things in the game? Here are my thoughts:
Difficulty:
Set prices on selling flowers at max $10 per flower for the absolute best and perfect quality flower
Travel costs money - free to lot in same neighborhood, $50 to another neighborhood, $500 to another world
Clothing costs money - each item costs money and sims will get positive buffs from new clothes and negative buffs for old clothes, perhaps even gain relationship faster wearing new clothing
Ability for played sims to work as mail deliverer, bartender, pizza deliverer, maid, repair person, gardener, etc and be paid lower income than traditional careers - and will show up in that world as that NPC when lot is played
Interesting:
Ability to buy big ticket items like real estate that generates income through rentals
Ability to buy commercial lot and then receive dividends proportional to lot cost
Furniture depreciates in value over time but can be "refinished" by handy sims and resold for more
Art appreciates in value over time to incentivize buying and holding onto art
Sims leave money and assets to sims with whom they have a good relationship upon dying
Place helicopters, and private jets on lot which eliminates cost to travel internationally - disappear animation is fine
Place cars on lot which eliminates cost to travel around world - disappear animation is fine
Freedom:
Ability to assign individual starting funds and career from within CAS
Individual bank accounts for all sims
Ability to combine funds when purchasing or renting a home
Ability to take out a loan for each sim no matter the reason - with interest much higher than the student loan
What are your thoughts?
