They haven't become entirely obsolete though nowadays people are probably less inclined to have daily newspaper delivered and landline phones are rarely used in homes as most people prefer cell phones. But we can't have retro 50s with cell phones, so wee need them and the papers for jobs, real estate, etc.

True and it would be great for a decade challenge. But now that I think about it because the phone and paper would be
the only things in the pack I don't see why they couldn't do both the 90s and 50s. @crocobaura
