This is my thread for various Fairy Tales based in the Sims 4. Note that they are all altered from their original text to fit the game and just because I want to do a twist on them. I find comments...
Everyday, he would cast his nets to provide for his family and himself.

The fisherman had a daughter, who he had raised by himself ever since she was little due to her mother's passing.

Once she was old enough, the daughter helped to contribute to the household with cleaning and even learning woodworking to sell her figurines.

Between the two of them, they lived in the fisherman's little shack by the water.

While they were both happy, they were always barely just above poverty. Still, they made do with what they had and what the land provided them

One day, the fisherman went out to set his baskets as usual.

His daughter was out at the woodworking bench, working on a new piece, when an old woman approached her.
https://i.imgur.com/pUxYZOV.jpg
She was not exactly the most attractive woman, her skin draped over her old bones and her eyes sunken deeper than a wrecked ship.

“Is your father home?” the old crone asked the daughter. “I have heard he is a widower and I wish to offer my hand in marriage. I have enough money that would allow the both of you to live comfortably. Surely, he would not say no to that, would he?”
https://i.imgur.com/ZDLq1P9.jpg
“My father is out fishing,” said the daughter. “And while your money would be wonderful indeed, I know he will not marry you for he does not even know you. Come back this evening when my father returns if you wish to speak to him.”
https://i.imgur.com/anOP1DK.jpg
"Very well," said the old woman. "I will return later on then."
https://i.imgur.com/75jPIHp.jpg
The woman then did so, showing up as the sun set to meet with the tired old fisherman, giving him her offer.
"But why us though? I'm just a mere fisherman and my darling daughter does most of the cleaning and cooking here."
https://i.imgur.com/eokufxK.jpg
"Why not?" said the old crone. "I'm a lonely woman with plenty of riches. You're a single father and could us the money. I promise to treat your daughter as if she were my own!"
https://i.imgur.com/DpCDxLo.jpg
"Still..." said the fisherman. "I barely know you."
"We'll know each other more after the wedding," said the old woman. "And think about how much more we can improve on this old shack of yours."
The fisherman twiddled his fingers before sighing.
"Well...It can't hurt. Very well. I have a day off in three days. We will have the wedding then."
Over the next few months, things definitely improved. The old shack soon grew into a proper house, the fisherman selling jewels given to him by the old hag and using the money to buy new wood. His daughter would then work on the house, her father helping on his days off.

The old crone brought (and sometimes bought) new furniture for the house, the fisherman and his daughter finally having a comfortable place to sit.
https://i.imgur.com/pZ9e5hI.jpg
They even had enough money for a bathroom! The fisherman would always say, "Now my new wife and my darling daughter will be happy, and I can sleep peacefully.”

One day, while the daughter was working, the elderly woman approached her.
"Have you seen the fish by the docks today? They look really big! I bet we could catch some for a great meal this evening."
The daughter, ever wanting to take care of her hard-working father, put down her tools and asked her step-mother to show her the fish.
https://i.imgur.com/9UEcFwk.jpg
The two went to the dock, the daughter looking around.
"Where are the fish you mentioned, step-mother?" she asked.
"I saw them out there," said the old hag. "I saw their scales sparkling in the sun. Have patience."
https://i.imgur.com/MbZfeh6.jpg
As the daughter looked over the water, her step-mother suddenly cast a spell over her...
https://i.imgur.com/UgiZcko.jpg
And then pushed her into the water! Unbeknownst to the fisherman, the old woman was actually a witch.
https://i.imgur.com/K0hQkTd.jpg
"I curse your body to become a fish!" she cackled. "So that you will be eaten by the sharks! With you out of the way, I will be the only one left for your father to love. And once he declares his devotion solely to me....
https://i.imgur.com/4HPkx1b.jpg
"I will eat his heart and regain my full strength!"
https://i.imgur.com/vWzACpa.jpg
With that, the witch left to inform her husband of his daughter's death.
That evening, the fisherman returned to hear the terrible news that his daughter was gone.
"I am sorry, darling," said the old crone. "We were fishing by the dock when a shark grabbed her line and she was pulled into the water. It was all so sudden! I don't think there was anything left of her."
"My daughter. My dear sweet daughter!!!" the fisherman cried. "How can I keep living without her?! I might as well join her and throw myself off the wharf!"
https://i.imgur.com/aDi0YUY.jpg
"Don't say such things!" the witch said with fake sympathy. "Surely your daughter would not want you to join her in the shark’s belly.”
The fisherman agreed, his heart however now broken over his alleged daughter's passing.

Now whether it was due to the weakened powers of the witch, or due to the love of her father, the young daughter did not become a fish, but rather a beautiful mermaid.
https://i.imgur.com/IY063QH.jpg
Cursed never to return to land however, she could not tell her father right away about what the witch had done.

It was not long that the fisherman fell into a deep depression. No matter what the witch tried, it appeared as if his love for anything had disappeared. One day, the old crone suggested to her husband to go fishing, saying that maybe returning to work might lighten his mood. Solemnly, the man got in his boat, taking his fishing baskets, and went off.
https://i.imgur.com/PkoHScj.jpg
He cast his baskets and began to fish, feeling not as depressed, but still lacking any enjoyment, even after a huge catch.
https://i.imgur.com/tDKxNM2.jpg
Sighing, the fisherman put away his rod, feeling himself drifting in and out of sleep. The rocking of the boat and his depression soon lulled him into a slumber.
https://i.imgur.com/JNs32Kp.jpg
Just then, the fisherman heard the most beautiful song that had ever graced his ears.
https://i.imgur.com/e32sapu.jpg
He could not understand the words, but it sounded so much like his dearly departed daughter that he felt his heart jump. He looked around but he could not find the source of the singing.
https://i.imgur.com/fS3zl2G.jpg
He decided it was time to go home and grabbed the fishing baskets, only to find them filled with treasure! Now happier than ever, the fisherman heaved the baskets into the boat and sailed off home.
Back at the house, the fisherman told his wife about his experience.
"And when I woke up, the baskets were filled with all sorts of treasure! It has to be a sign! A gift from my dearly departed daughter!"
https://i.imgur.com/oVOJ1RS.jpg
"You must have been dreaming, darling husband," said the witch. "She is gone. I saw her perish. Maybe you mistaken a mahi-mahi or some other colorful fish."
https://i.imgur.com/7wjXLzw.jpg
“But it was no dream! See?” said the fisherman, tipping his basket and spilling the gems and gold all over the table. “My darling daughter speaks to me from the depths and blessed us with all these riches!”
The old crone could feel her chest tighten. She was sure that the daughter had to have been dead by now. Where had all these riches come from? Just then, they heard a distant melody outside.
https://i.imgur.com/jIOML3e.jpg
The two ran out to the dock, looking over the water as the song grew louder.
"Can you hear it, dear wife?" said the fisherman. "Your step-daughter sings from the depths.
The old witch gave a nervous smile as she continued to listen.
"Well...I do hear something...Are we sure it isn't a bird?"
https://i.imgur.com/pBCB2OK.jpg
The two looked around before seeing her in the distance: The Mermaid Daughter. She was covered in jewels and gold but did not approach the dock. She sang out once more, this time with lyrics clear as the waters
“Father, Father, please do not cry. Let rest that tear from your sad eye I now live here but you must know; It was your wife that made this so.
She pushed me in to cast a spell, And kill me so then she not tell. But I live here now in the sea, And still your daughter I will be."
https://i.imgur.com/Q6Z0o5e.jpg
The fisherman's brow suddenly furrowed, the old witch quivering as the mermaid continued.
"Fear the witch, father, oh please do. She wishes to do harm to you. Say you love her and seal your doom For your heart she will then consume.”
https://i.imgur.com/1ho6E6D.jpg
"It was you who did all this then!" The fisherman shouted at the old hag. "Manipulated me to think my darling daughter was dead! All to eat the heart of a poor old fisherman!"
"The mermaid lies! She lies!" begged the witch.
https://i.imgur.com/wAR6QMa.jpg
The fisherman now understood fully what the mermaid’s song meant and, without hesitation, threw the old witch off the dock.
https://i.imgur.com/p6FjOvz.jpg
The witch did not even make a cry as the water boiled around her as she dissolved into the sea.
https://i.imgur.com/vQIJ2EW.jpg
The fisherman's daughter then approached the dock. She took the jewels she had been and left them by her father's feet before swimming away once more.

From then on, the fisherman lived his best life...

Knowing that his daughter was watching out for him...
