For me it's because I don't care to always have to go on a "tropical" vacation. I'm in the US and we don't have many (If any) tropical, beach hutty vibe places here. Brindleton Bay is reminiscent of the New England states, there's the beach and shoreline, the lighthouse, etc. I would much rather build my sandcastles, go boating, or jet skiing, lay out and tan and swim in that type of environment because that is what is most familiar to me.
Sulani in my game is strictly for a vacation, I don't want to live there. The other worlds my sims live in, so to be able to have that same gameplay type activity in "normal residential" worlds, would be awesome for me.
