More Advanced Relationships

So, a thing I noticed throughout the years of playing the Sims 4 is that your sims can date whoever they want to date, marry whoever they want to marry, become friends with whoever they want to become friends with and so on. Why is that?

I think there should be more advanced relationships in the Sims 4, maybe a game pack or something. Sims could have friends/dating preferences or have turn offs and ons like they had in the Sims 2. It just feels very weird to be able to have any kind of relationship with any Sim in the game, or marry anyone you want to as long as they don't have the non-committal.

My suggestions:
Make a "preferences" bar in Create a Sim, where we can choose the preference of our Sims for example, favorite color, food, traits that they like at other sims, and so on. If the sims are someway compatible with each other, they can become good friends/date each other. But if they are opposites, maybe they'd become enemies or reject Romantic interactions and stuff. And bring back crushes! Like in the Sims 2 and 3! That was awesome.

Forgot! Maybe also add sexuality preferences. :)
  • This is the problem with Sims games - we have no idea what is missing and not coming and what is missing and will be added at some point in time.

Being a Simmer is like being a beggar, alone in a vast desert of nothing but sand, just sitting there with our begging bowl - waiting for someone to walk by.
  • On top of that, if an incompatible relationship is allowed to happen, it should always hang in the balance and have a high chance of ending in only a couple sims days.
  • I like this idea. I agree that there should be more complex relationships and preferences. I'd also like to see for friendships "Like a brother" and "like a sister" so the sims can still act like siblings without having to be related so if you want said sims to get together later on you can.
  • Very cool idea! It often seems like my sims get with whoever they happened to be around when the get flirty, lol. It would be way more fun if they had a "type" or at least preferences that played into who they get along with, or who they'e attracted to or whatever. I never played sims 2 or 3, but the crushes idea also sounds super cool!
  • This would be great cause it would help to fix a little bit the fact that sims flirt with everyone when they are flirty (even if they are in a relationship already. Sometimes I had a groom/bride flirt with other sims in their on wedding in fron of their loved one lol)
  • I completely agree it doesn't seem realistic. I think the chosen traits should affect it also! They need to flesh it out and I really want turn on/offs back we need some spice back in the game

    Great analogy lol.
  • This is such a good idea. I think there's so much more that could be expanded on with interactions in the sims 4. Playing the Sims 3, I used to find having to do favorite color, favorite food, and star sign tedious but thinking back on it, I miss it. It added a certain depth to the character and I loved having other sims comment on how compatible they were with my sim.
