Log of a renovator, Part 2My day started with the reminder in my mailbox that the wedding lot should function as a park. City management apparently salivated at the thought of buying it (within budget, of course) after the event. The widely published knowledge that it had been uses for a royal wedding- and some tasteful pictures in the SimSun – would make the park more attractive and it would be a feather in the City Council’s cap. Politicians, you’ve got to love them, eh?
It was midday until I finished rearranging some things. A friend delivered the jungle gym and play tower. Well, after the wedding was over the City might want to remove the high fence (or enlarge it around the whole park for safety). For now we needed it this way. My information stated clearly that no little kids would be part of the wedding itself, the stuff didn’t need to be inside the setting, the kiddie entertainment was meant for the local children.
I checked my budget. 1k Simleons left and I had two days left until the couple would arrive, another day until the rest of the wedding party made their grand entrance. Lush, the request had been for lush vegetation. I eyed the lot. And maybe some more light features, one broken ankle was one too many.
Container plants are the best, let me tell you. Fast and easily placed, if you’ve got the muscles. Or some help. The kids seemed to like the new equip and played on them in the shadow of the strange trees readily.
I placed some last objects (handy wipes are important!) and some additional decorative touches et voilá! I was finished and within budget! My colleagues would mock me, but I was proud about my work. Who knew fences were so expensive? But they looked so nice… I sighed. I could do without those up on the roof structure, nobody would climb up there and be at risk to fall. I hoped.
I was nervous about what Princess Starla and Prince ZigZag would say about this lot. I hoped they were not snobs and that they knew about earth. Uhm. Do they have bathtubs at her home planet? I eyed the vegetation. The alien plants didn’t need to be watered, which was ideal for a desert… maybe aliens generally didn’t know water? Nha, I would have been told about such important facts. It won’t be my job to throw them the party but I’ve been asked to show them around first. They expressed their wish to accommodate themselves to this new environment and only meet as few people as possible.
The Prince arrived first. He was cautiously looking around, stared at the sky and then nodded and a pleases smile curved his lips. Quite attractive, I understood why Starla fell for that guy. If the personality matched the smile… I stared and the grin turned a little devilish.
“Hello, you must be Amaly Builder! You were expecting someone with green skin?”
Way smooth of me, he caught me gawking! I fear my skin cheeks colored bright pink at that point.”Ehm, Good evening, Your Highness! Yes, I am Amaly, I’m pleased to welcome you here on Earth! I was… well, surprised. Yes. Ahem.” That was better than admitting that I thought he was cute.
“Ah, I don’t stand on formality outside formal occations in court. Loki is fine with me, ZigZag is more of a title than a real name. My looks are indeed a disguise, but since you are aware of my origin I’ll turn it off. It is more comfortable without.”
Let me tell you, he looked even better blue!
Then the portal activated again and the bride stepped through. Oh my! But look yourself:
They were very open in their affections and, to be honest, mostly kind of ignored me but not in a rude way, just… absorbed in each other.
I designed the private part of the Park with Princess Starla in mind, I thought she would need some time for herself and to prepare for the wedding. And, of course some time with her new husband afterwards. It was the ‘later’ they had some problems with! I showed them the whirlpool and- I’m not going to show those pictures to the City Council.
“They watched like Mikjacks at home, never giving us a minute alone together. You don’t mind?” Starla beamed and didn’t even wait for my answer before dragging a very willing boyfriend in the water. No, no fear of water at all. No genius intelligence needed to guess what happened in the bedroom.
At least my plants got a second glance. “Oh, they look like the will be ripe tomorrow! I adore Pieksis!” before the bed was thoroughly tested for structural integrity. I silently applauded myself for choosing the more expensive and sturdy version.
In the morning we finally got to the ground floor and the wedding reception area. The Princess needed a little time in the restrooms and while we waited for her return Loki grinned kind of evily and asked me if I had a good friend I could call.
“Our families don’t really give a damn, that is the correct expression, yes? So we don’t see why we have to wait for them to arrive, we want to marry now. You and your friend can be the witnesses!”
“Wont your future step parents get angry?” I dared to ask because if there was something I wanted to avoid, angry alien customers out for my blood topped the list.
Starla walked around the corner and had caught the end of our conversation. “No, don’t worry, they are so flustered by my faux pas that they can’t look at me. It is better this way.”
I hesitated. Both showed me grins with a lot of sharp, sharp teeth. Remember the list I mentioned? My cell was in my hands quite fast!
By the way, the part of her not showing yet? A total lie! But something else was true, the Pieksfruits were ready to be eaten by morning.

I’m not going to repeat that soon! The photo-story part, I mean^^ It will be an exception in my creation thread. BTW, I got silver for the wedding, I forgot about preparing the cake. I will probably spruce up the park a little bit, add a small kitchen for all those who also tend to forget too.
I used one of my in game aliens as the groom. Loki is always up for a little mischief. Really EA? A shape-changing alien with blue skin and red eyes is now that easy to create without any cheats? Some Devs must be Marvel fans. I couldn’t resist.
