Okay fine so I stewed over your tidbits for awhile. (I have been out of town, so not on for most of the day) After 3 years Sofia doesn't know what her boyfriend does!? Somhow this seems wrong. :/
Jesse is working for some corporation, we don't know what kind, he is in charge of the product development of ???. This seems suspicious...

The headquarters are in the same town Ben lives in so him moving wasn't a big deal. I think Jesse is the head of development of the plant operation and might be the boss of all the production plans. His thugs are sunglasses and beanie.
