And my fear is that I think something like this has the potential to be glitchy as hell. I can just imagine npc sims standing around and not helping when they should be or food from the party idea being left on the ground and rotting. I wouldn't want something like this implemented unless it had very detailed programming to ensure as few issues as possible. And sadly, the game is already riddled with bugs and glitches.
A construction career is one I'd like, though not necessarily as an active career.
Thanks for the feedback. What I listed above doesn't have to be exactly how it's implemented but I tried to make it as detailed as I could to get a clear picture of what I'm thinking.
As for the food, when you're at an event in real life where there are no waste containers, you presumably take your trash with you and throw it away at home. Something like that could work here as well as a possible port-a-potty or something.
As for the time of completion that would be calculated internally and would be up to the devs to tweak. Also, remember, as your construction skill goes up and the skill of others who are helping you go up, the time will decrease accordingly.
And as for the npc sims just standing around, well they're not getting paid so if they just stand around it doesn't affect the project but perhaps would affect your sim's attitude toward them.
EDIT: It could even be simplified completely to be something more like the rocket ship project...
