I've actually seen a lot of cc hairstyles that look very similar to these pictures.
I don't know why but the longest hairstyles ea ever came up with were shoulder lenght so I don't really expect anything else in the future packs.
Maybe it's just hard to adjust the way longer hairstyles look on sims and they take the easier route.
