New Sims 4 Challenge

Welcome to the Alphabet/Color Legacy Challenge! Your goal is to create a legacy family that makes it from A to Z—each generation tied to a specific letter and color. Follow these rules and see how creative you can get!

---

Setup & Starting Rules

1. Start with a single sim

Start with a young adult sim and $20,000.

Their name must start with A.

2. Choose a color

The color must also start with the same letter as your sim’s name.

Example: Allison → Aqua

3. Home & Decor

You can move or build a new house at any time during the challenge.

The house must reflect the main generation’s color:

Shared spaces can be neutral with accents of the chosen color.

The heir’s bedroom should clearly reflect the color theme—it should be obvious whose room it is!

Every sim’s bedroom (including children) should reflect their assigned color.

4. Outfits

Each outfit (every category) must have at least one element in the chosen color.

5. Marriage

You can marry anyone—they do not need to have a name starting with the letter of that generation.

---

Generational Rules

1.Children & Heirs

If your sim has multiple children, each child must have a different color starting with the letter of that generation.

Example: If you’re on B and have two kids, you could use Blue and Burgundy.

You cannot reuse colors in future generations.

Only one child can be chosen as the heir to continue the legacy.

Move out siblings who are not chosen as the heir once they reach young adulthood.

2. Pets

If you adopt a pet, its name must start with the current generation's letter.

The name must come directly from the game (no changing it!).

3. Careers & Money

Your sim must have a way to make money tied to the letter of the generation.

Example: Allison (A) → Artist

If you can't find a suitable career or money-making activity, that generation goes without an official occupation!

---

Goal

Successfully make it from A to Z while following the name, color, and career rules.

Keep your house evolving with each generation's new color and make it look cohesive.

---

Example

Generation A

Name: Allison

Color: Aqua

Career: Artist

Pet: Ami (dog)

  • HoofDragonCreate  Overall, an interesting concept, but I have some questions. So the heir will start out with a color starting with their parent's letter, and then change their assigned color at some point? So, for example, you had Blue and Burgundy for B gen's children's colors. If the blue child was the heir, then they become C gen eventually. Does that mean they, at some point, change their color from Blue to one that starts with C (celadon, let's say)? If so, when does that transition happen?

Also about careers: so, when you pick a career starting with the letter, it's more of a theme for a career, not the actual name of an official career in the game, or a money making skill? I ask, because I noticed that Allison is an Artist. Artist is not an official in-game career, like Astronaut. Art is also not the name of a skill, like Archeology.

If the spouse adopts a pet, can they name it whatever, or does it also start with the generational letter?

  • BissenNessWhen the child is born they are assigned a color with their letter, (for example, my A generation sim just had a baby and the baby's color is black from birth) The career is a general theme, I think it would work well with like pottery, it is just a way to make money.  Yes the spouse can name the pet whatever they like. I hope this helps!!
