We are so brilliant writers who I'm sure have different processes when it comes to writing. In thought it might be fun, it being coffee hour, to share our creative process :)
Here is what writing an episode of The Bachelor: Disney Villains Edition looks like:
- First I play the whole challenge before I start my season. So I spread know the winner and losers right now ;) I screenshot while playing, trying to get everything I can. As I'm playing illhave a general idea of storylines and plot twists that will occur during the season.
-
- Next up is screenshottong the interview images. For this I turn autnomy off and run through a ton of different chatting interactions that way I'll have a lot to choose from when I need to add those shots.
- When I have all my shots I organize everything! Since my episodes are a weeks worth of play that's how I organize the game play shots. So week 1, week 2 etc. Then I organize the interview pics, each contestant gets their own folder.
- When it's time to write an episode the first edit of images occurs. I go into what ever week I'm writing and do my first edit. Basically this edit gets rid of dupilicate shots and had shots, like heads cropped and pictures of walls and such.
- Next is the bigger edit, basically where I map out my story. Since I transfer all my images on to imgur I number my images from 1 to whatever amount of images are left form that episode. It helps me keep better track of the border of the images. On this edit I'm really trying to shape my story so a lot of images get cut. I usually start with 800 images and it gets scaled down to under 200. I have to put each html code from imgur to WordPress so I really try to get it down as much as I can. Also I want to make sure I'm not bombarding the reader with 20 images to tell one simple scene.
- After the images have been edited down its time to upload them to imgur and then transfer them over to WordPress. I create my no blog post and manually add all the links. I'm really contemplating buying the subscription to expand my media on WordPress.
- Once all the images are in my new blog post that's when I start to write the episode. I use the images I've pulled to craft my story. Also what you might not realize is I write the interview lines without there being any interview images in place, those get added later. While writing there's usually some more images that get deleted but it's usually not a lot.
- After the story is written that when I go back and pick out the interview images to go with the lines I've already written. I number those images the same way, upload to imgur and then place in the correct spaces.
- Finally I do one final proof read to make sure it makes sense and there aren't any typos. Then it gets posted for everyone to enjoy!
(My Disney legacy is the same process minus the interview images obviously ;) )
And that's my writing process. I know it's long but i thought you guys might like to see how I work. Also it explains why my posts are sometimes delayed since there's so many steps involved.
My process is structured in the way it's organized and put together but the actual writing I feel comes about very organically. I can't wait to hear how everybody else's stories come together :)
