These objects might break from time to time, so that there will be no power/water until your repair it.

"Off The Grid" objects include outdated furniture that doesn't rely on water/power like a porta potty toilet that doesn't use water
A pit toilet would be better, and include the risk of it contaminating the groundwater.
and a stove that uses fire instead of electricity.
