The computer I play on is not high-end, but considering I have seven or more EPs for the Sims 3 and the only one that really struggles is Island Paradise... it's doing just fine with Open World. It does "buffer" occasionally when my Sims are running across town or when I am constantly fast-forwarding through things, but other than that- it's perfectly fine and has little to no problems. My games however crash recently after a little while of playing (2 or so hours). I think it may be a problem with the installments so I think I will re-install and continue on with my life and hope for the best. The Sims 4 doesn't have Open World so the thread is really kind of irrelevant, but there is lag still, because of the top-notch graphics. It's not nearly as bad, but that's because there is absolutely nothing really happening in the game. Ever.
*Also, just to pipe in on the last few comments... I don't think people who like Sims 4 are not true "Simmers." I do think a lot of the fan base may be new or newer users, but it stands that many people who have played the games for years don't like the new version. I think it is mostly because of instead of being more, it ended up being a bit less and now we're all looking forward to EPs that will eat away at our wallets. I feel like I am not a true fan because I don't like TS4, lol. I wanted to and I think there are still enjoyable aspects, but if open world means lag, then I'll take the lag.*
