Great idea for a challenge @QueenofMyshuno ! I have a Rags to Riches Sim, Eva Knight, that earns most of her income from taking nature/landscape photographs and programming (hacking only). Her main interest though is the photography, she's registered herself with the title of Photographer. She hopes to one day to be a world famous National Geographic photographer or at least have her work published in their magazine.
Eva currently has progressed from nothing to living in a makeshift roof shack on the Cookout Lookout lot in Newcrest, to a shack with actual walls. She's using the second best camera Santa gave her for Christmas and is on the cusp of Level 4 in the photography skill. Her photos don't bring in much income yet, her best work so far was an Outstanding medium size, experimental arty shot of the San Myshuno bridge taken during the Spice Festival worth 14 simoleons.
She's sold most of her work to survive except a few small selfies taken with her cell phone so Eva doesn't have any real collections or samples to show her best work here yet.
I've had thoughts of getting her the Street Gallery and have her sell photos that way, but I've read it's still bugged and I'm not sure they can even sell photos on that anyway. So, once she's earned enough to buy the best camera and take large format images, plus has leveled the skill, I'll have her start this challenge.
She has a little over 7700 simoleons saved up, so she could buy it now, but I made it a rule she needs at least 20K saved up for the Fabulously Wealthy aspiration milestone before buying anything else. Mostly because I'm trying to take this gameplay a lot slower than I normally do and let Eva have an actual life.
I have a bad habit of making my Rags to Riches Sims; too rich too fast, chained to their lot grinding skills and/or jumping around worlds to collect stuff, ignoring phone calls to go out and have fun, no love interest, no family, then build them a fabulous house and ultimately I get bored with them to start all over with another Sim. o.O
