Yuck. That sounds like a pain. I just built them a new house on a larger lot. Thanks to the suggestions, I put all the harvestable plants in the household inventory before moving. Everything stayed in tact. Try that method next time. It was painless. :)
Anyway, off to bed for real now. Have fun.
