Yeah, that's what I mean by disinteresting. One of them has like 3 color options. Boring. The textured one is ok but I'd really like more color options and one that's more geometric/modern. It's nice to have a plain one but with so few color options, it's not the most useful.
One thing that realy ticks me off is the inability to change the colour of single tile doors. When I create a richly coloured home, I want richly coloured wooden doors--not white. The only doors that give you that option are double-tile doors, and even then, it's pathetic. Not to mention, I don't want to use double-tile doors for rooms like bathrooms and such. Don't know what they were thinking. Wood, stone, and linoleum flooring is also sadly lacking. I do wish they'll be able to offer us a way to create/add our own colours/designs in the future. I used to create all my walls and floors in S2. I rarely used the generic game offerings. I also want to be able to create L-shaped and true corner-shaped stairs.
*end of rant*
Here's hoping *crosses fingers and wishes really hard for more personalized options*
I do love the freizes, spandrels, and roof trims. Those are awesome and lovely.
@moongodess I hear what you mean about them doing something different. It was explained that our sims are active during loading screens. However, I pause my game whenever I leave, and I always have the walls down. Yet, when I enter, it's unpaused and the walls are half up. It's annoying, but oh well. There are worse things, I suppose. :)
There is one single-tile door you can change colors on--it's one of the cheaper doors but it's the only one I've found. If you can't find it next time you're in, let me know and I'll look up what object name it has for you.
They def need to add more presets. I figured this is something that would happen over time as more EPs and SPs are released. I'm still completely stumped about why they made so many presets that don't match. Want a big fancy double door in red? Well you won't find any windows with trim to match. Want to add roof trim in turquoise? Don't expect to find it for your foundation trim or the siding trim.
