I don't know if you have ever seen a film called "Ex Machina" ? It's set in this very modern sort of house / complex which is built in and around a Norwegian forest. The place is called Juvet Landscape Hotel in Valdalen. It's really a quite amazing bit of architecture, almost like living inside glass cubes that have been thrown into the wilderness.

I like the way plenty of the houses in places like Greenland, Svalbard and Iceland have these bright, cheery coloured walls. I wonder if it is something to do with the short day length they have for a long period of the year. A splash of colour takes the mind off the dreary 8 hours of twilight?
