Assignment 2- Angles and Lighting
So many errors and problems with this image. A lot of work did go into it...but it frustrated me XD. I'm still not 100% happy with it...but at least she looks cute :/ XD
Delilah:
Walking into boot camp for the first time was quite exciting. This was all a whole new experience for me..a new place, with new people. Luckily I'm a pretty outgoing girl, and get along well with others. My fellow boot camp girls seemed pretty cool and friendly.
I found my room quite easily, and settled in nicely. It was about the same size as my room at home, so it was comfortable. Still, I could barely sleep because I was so excited for my first official day of class to start. I wanted to grow and learn a lot during my time here.
My mom's always told me modelling isn't exactly easy, but it can be fun and rewarding as long as you do your best, and stay positive.
With my mom's words in mind, I practically skipped into class the next morning. I was curious about what the class was going to be like; especially on the first day.
Our first lesson ended up being on lighting, and the use of angles. I became a bit nervous after hearing that. When I was younger I always saw models in the magazine/on TV, and the whole process looked like a piece of cake to me (not literally, of course). Still, this assignment sounded slightly complex and difficult. My mom of course has tried to help me understand what modelling is exactly, and the difficulty involved...but our conversations usually drift off towards recipes and food.
Anyway, ones of the girls Sabi seemed really interesting and I liked her style. She looked like a professional and a fashion star! A lot of the girls here were so beautiful and stylish. But, that made me more determined to do well during my time here.
Within my mind I said, *I'll do my best. I hope to make you proud.* I was referring to my family with that certain thought, but I also wanted to make myself proud too.
When I stood in front of the class a short while later...I took a deep breath, and smiled brightly. The photographer was standing in front of me; examining the hasty instructions I'd written down for my image. I was pretty specific, and hoped it wasn't too much to handle. The props were set in place, as well as the lights. Our teacher helped me place a table at the center of the room in front of my backdrop. I'd actually snagged a couple of apples from the cafeteria as well. I didn't get them for eating of course, but I thought they'd look nicely in my image. Especially since I'm at school, after all *and I love food :)*.
Everything was set up after a few minutes. It looked exactly how I wanted it to. Pink and pretty.
The photographer and our teacher both gave me encouraging smiles and nods. I smiled back, and took a deep breath before getting into position.
It was over as soon as it started. I remember sitting there...seeing flashes of light, and feeling my eyes water slightly from the colors and brightness.
But once I was back in my seat, I felt happy. It wasn't the most creative or beautiful piece I know...but I stayed positive, and did my best...Just like Mom told me to.
It was a fun learning experience!
